The best location for wine tasting, a unique atmosphere, and different emotions. It was an information-packed tour, and I learned as much as possible about the wine technology and the history of the cellar, which was previously unknown to me. This unique tunnel, carved into the middle part of the Caucasus mountain range, leaves visitors with a lasting impression. Thanks to Khareba Winery and their guides for the hospitality, and I wish them success in their business.
The tour was really fun and interesting. They let you taste many traditional wines, I personally don’t drink alcohol, but my wife does and she really liked it, she even bought 2 bottles of some wines she liked. I tasted some cheeses, breads and high quality oil from grape seeds – we enjoyed it a lot. And of course- The restaurant, is just lovely! Not only the food, but also a very beautiful interior design of the place, and the staff- wow, they are really pleasant and kind. And at the top of point they have an observatory with amazing view. Also somehow the place is not expensive, I mean, we were eating in many restaurants in Georgia, and the prices here are pretty much average, but the experience is way above the average.
On the tour, you will learn so much about the traditional wine making process in Georgia (and the traditions still carried on today). Informative and knowledgeable staff guide you and can ask any questions you may have. Upon arrival we had the privilege of a Georgian folk performance welcoming us. Going into the tunnels is a little chilly but they offer blankets to wrap up in for the walk. We tasted a few wines with cheese, bread, and grape seed oil which is also produced here. Excellent tour and experience! Be sure to buy a bottle of wine to take home on your way out.
